About Thalor

The work is here. The ground isn’t.

Most work on the water needs somewhere to stand. Thalor builds software that helps marine contractors find work and act on it, and modular steel work platforms that put working space beside the job instead of leaving it to be found.

Founding story

Why Thalor exists.

Thalor began with two lessons from working on the water.

At Circle Seafoods, I saw how much untapped potential exists offshore—and how difficult it is to build there. I also saw that barges can have long lives and serve many different purposes. I kept asking: why not design that adaptability in from the start?

Later, while working on a marine construction project in Metlakatla, the second insight became clear. The missing primitive was floating ground: working space where it is needed, when it is needed.

I first came to Metlakatla with Circle Seafoods in the summer of 2024, returned in 2025 and moved here at the end of that year. That was the beginning of my real seafaring education. I have been learning from the people, vessels and work here ever since.

Thalor brings together what I have learned from building companies, financing difficult projects and putting real operations into service. The goal is not simply to build platforms. It is to give other people the ground they need to create, build and unlock more value on the water.

Charlie Campbell
Founder

Built from experience.

Before founding Thalor, Charlie co-founded Circle Seafoods and helped finance the conversion of a 400-foot barge into a floating freezer.

His earlier work spans company building, operations, finance, technology and large physical projects. Thalor is where those lessons come together: finance the hard thing, build it, put it to work and keep improving it.

What customers can expect.

The truth. No runaround. A relentless commitment to solving the problem and making work on the water easier.

Thalor’s goal is to become the most seafarer-centric company on the planet. That means listening carefully, answering clearly, learning from real work and continually removing friction for the people who work on the water.

Where we are.

One work platform. Built in Metlakatla, in the water since August and now in service. That is the whole fleet today.

We build the next ones as leases are signed, so we are taking on early customers: harbors, contractors and operators in Southeast Alaska who need working space this season.

Early customers get a say in what the next platform carries, and a price that reflects being first.

The software is live too: the app helps marine contractors find work that fits and act on it.

We’re deploying our first work platforms here, learning where working space is hardest to get, what people need it for, and what it takes to make it available.
