A ship has a captain and, under the captain, people who each keep one part of it running and stand their own watch. Thalor works the same way. A Keeper owns one domain of the company for years, sets its standard, and answers for it.
What the work is like
The work is physical. Steel, water, weather, and a community that notices whether you show up. The company lives in Metlakatla, Alaska, and the product floats fifty feet from the office.
The problems are unusual. Nobody has built a deployable ground network on the ocean before, so most of what a Keeper does has no manual. The people who thrive here are the ones who go after the hardest problem in their domain because they cannot help it.
We hire slowly and we do not lower the bar. We look for evidence over impressions: the thing you built, the system still running, the team that would follow you. Whenever we can, we work together on a paid project before anyone talks about a full-time offer.
The test we apply to every Keeper: if the founder disappeared for six months, would the team willingly follow you in your domain?
